Connecting the World to Africa

Passion. Experience. Diligence.

Josh and Kevin are both natives of Kenya with a passion for International Business. As young boys, they spent many weekends at exhibitions organized by the Kenya National Chamber of Commerce (KNCCI), where their mother worked. Since she could not afford a baby sitter, Jennifer took her two sons with her  to work on weekends when she was on duty at trade fairs; talk about bring-your-kids-to-work day. The two young boys, eager to explore the world around them, spent their days visiting exhibitors and sampling candy  from all over the world.  While other kids were at home playing on the street, Josh and Kevin were learning to interact with people they had never met.

While Kevin pursued further studies in Canada, Josh  started unofficially  assisting organizations plan and execute Trade Exhibitions in Kenya,  through the KNCCI, between 2007 and 2010. Since he was not an official organizer, he could not establish "behind-the-scenes" interaction with international exhibitors. "The exhibition organizer would not even give us free passes to events. We had to buy our own passes, which we did,  and walked up and down the stalls trying to understand what attracted all these companies to the Kenyan market" says Josh. "It was during this time that we discovered the need for companies to establish local representation." They established a relationship with an Indian Exhibiting company and helped them organize a Sugar Technology Expo. It was a great success!

In 2011, International Business Connections was founded.  With an official brand and industry experience, IBC is now able to approach International Organizations and help them foster strong business relationships in East Africa. We believe that these joint ventures are the future of the World Economy and we strive to have our clients at the forefront of this fundamental shift in International Business.

Josh lives in Nairobi, Kenya while Kevin is based out of Montreal, Canada. They are a force to be reckoned with!
